The County Flute Band is a Loyalist Flute Band from Motherwell, Scotland who take part in Orange Order and Black Preceptory parades within the Lanarkshire area. We are an accomplished Blood and Thunder kick band and have won this prize in every competition we have taken part in last year. You can view the list in our Diary page.

The exact date the band was formed is not known but it is believed to be as early as the 1930's. Due to the war the band split up and was reformed in 1969 in the County Bar at the County Corner in Motherwell. Previously we were known either as Motherwell True Blues or The County but now we are simply The County Flute Band.

We have been through many troubled times and changes in the last few years with one of the biggest being the band having to move our band practice from Motherwell to Wishaw. Although we practice and walk in Wishaw we still consider ourselves a Motherwell band as that is where our roots are.

Last year has seen the biggest change in the band. We have appointed a new committee and now have the use of the Georgia Browns pub upstairs lounge for practices and functions and always have something on every weekend. Every band member worked hard last year and made it possible to purchase our new uniform which we are pleased to show off in our picture gallery.

The band consists of 40 members which includes 8 side drummers, 3 bass drummers 4 kids playing the symbols, 2 marshalls and 23 fluters.

We are without question THE BEST KICK BAND in Scotland.
